
Introdution
Kunming Dragon Gate Scenic Area, also called Longmen, is known for its long history of Taoist and Buddhist grottoes. It is located on the sharp cliff side of the West Hill. The history of the huge project of Dragon Gate can be dated back to the period of the Qing Dynasty (from 1781 to 1853), taking seven decades to complete.
What to see
Longmen scenic area is the best location to overlook the whole Kunming scenery. It is a dangerous terrain, dense vegetation and good air quality. It is composed of Longmen quarry, stone chamber and stone carving. There are Longmen Gate, Huating temple, Taihua temple, Sanqing Pavilion and other scenic spots with a history of more than 600 years.

Huating Temple
Huating temple, 2050 meters above sea level, was founded in the 14th century. It is a famous Buddhist holy land in Kunming.

Taihua Temple
Taihua temple is located on the hillside of Taihua mountain. Built in the Yuan Dynasty, it is composed of Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Misty tower, etc. The temple is surrounded by dense bamboos.
