Overview
Longmenshan National Geopark covers an area of 1, 900 sq.km and boasts diversified land forms characterized with well-developed strata, glacial erratic boulders (nappe) and thrust fault terrains (klippe), which are highly valued by geologists in the world as ranking along those of the Alps.

The mention of Longmenshan (Dragon Gate Mountains) can be traced back to the earliest historical records in China and the legendary figure Da Yu, the leader in fighting floods in remote ancient times, is said to be a native of the Longmenshan area.

Yinchang Valley

Jiufeng Mountain
