Introdution
Stone Forest Scenic Spot is located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County of Kunming, 78 kilometers away from Kunming downtown, covering an area of over 350 square kilometers. At present, the main tourist areas are: Shilin scenic spot, Heisongyan scenic spot, Feilong Waterfall and Changhu lake scenic spot. Shilin scenic spot is "World Geopark" and "World Natural Heritage scenery".
How was it formed?
About 300 million years ago, Shilin scenic area was once a vast ocean. After a long geological evolution, the elevation gradually increased, and finally formed a very precious geological heritage, which is one of the largest karst landforms on the earth. In 1931, the Shilin scenic spot of Kunming was officially established.

Shilin scenic area belongs to subtropical low latitude plateau mountain monsoon climate, the annual average temperature is about 16 ?, there is no severe cold in winter, no hot in summer, temperture is very pleasant in four seasons.
Main Attractions
Small stone forest
The small stone forest, also known as Ashima scenic area, is divided into several gardens by the wide and thick stone wall like a screen. The most famous scenic spot is "Ashima". When night falls, the colorful lights reflect on it, which is more colorful and charming.
Big stone forest
The big stone forest is composed of dense stone peaks, like a stone basin. The stone peaks here have different shapes and are very distinctive.
Changhu Lake
Changhu Lake is a karst lake. Its water is supplied by groundwater. It has a circumference of 5km, a width of 300m, and an average depth of 24m. The water quality is clear and pollution-free, and the plant coverage rate is more than 95%. It is located in the mountains of 1907 meters above sea level. The lake is shaped like a slender girl, which is the hometown of Ashima in folklore.
