Introdution
Tianlong Ancient Village is located in Anshun City, western Guizhou Province. It is 72 kilometers away from Guiyang city. This is the throat of the western region into Yunnan. The village has a unique culture,their voice, clothing, residential buildings and entertainment are totally different from those of the surrounding villages. This unique cultural phenomenon of Han nationality is called "Tunpu culture", and one of the most representative is Tianlong Tunpu.
Source of the Name
Tianlong was originally named "Fanlong". At the beginning, some learned villagers in Tianlong village felt that the word "Fanlong" was not elegant. After proposal, they took the word "Tian" of Tiantai Mountain and "dragon/Long" of Longyan mountain as the name of the village. This is the origin of the word "Tianlong" in Tianlong Village.
Tianlong "Tunpu"
Tunpu means "a military important place for stationing troops". The Tianlong Tunpu was originally a post station on the ancient post road of Shunyuan, named "Fanlongyi". Due to the important military geographical position, a large number of troops have been stationed here and around since the Ming Dynasty. Up to now, it is still an important place for garrison.
