Overview
Dali is located northwest of the Yunnan Province, 300 kilometers northwest of Kunming, Dali City is the economic and cultural center of the Bai Autonomous Prefecture. Cangshan Mountain, lied to the west of the city, and Erhai Lake, some 400 kilometers to the west, are the leading scenic areas, and most attractions in Dali lie between these two landmarks, such as Butterfly Spring, the Three Pagoda of Chongsheng Temple, etc. In Dali Ancient City, ancient buildings, city walls, and old city moat are the sites frequently by visitors, and the local customs, handcrafts, culinary delicacies are also attractive.

Dali is between Lijiang and Kunming, you can take flight, bullet train, long distance bus or private transfer from both two places. It has only one airport and one bullet train station, named Dali Airport and Dali Railway Station. To travel around Dali, you can ride a taxi or bike to travel its downtown area.
