Hongcun and Xidi are much more exquisite and grandiose, because they were built by successful officials or merchants returning home from official appointments and business.
Firstly, you will visit Hongcun Ancient Village, it is known as the most beautiful ancient villages in China and attracts lots of tourists come here for sightseeing.
Follow our guide to walk around the village, you can see the Moon Lake, the crescent-like pond surrounded by several grand dwellings, and Southern Lake Academy, a private ancient school served for the village.
One interesting fact is that the whole village is arranged in the shape of an ox.
The famous Oscar-winner film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were filmed in Hongcun.
We believe you can also make your own flim about Hongcun during your Huangshan tour.
In the afternoon, continue your tour to visit Xidi Ancient Village.
Its well-spaced houses with white walls, elegant decorations and black tiles are surrounded by mountains, which makes Xidi an ideal place for paint from life.
Xidi is a magnificent villager of imperial officers.
It contributed about 130 government officials, some of whom were dignitaries in the imperial courts, during Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Currently, there are still 124 well-preserved ancient dwelling with unique style in the village.

It takes around 1 hour from Huangshan downtown.
Upon arrival, you will take the park bus from the mountain foot to Mercy Light Pavilion to take a cable car up to the Jade Screen Scenic Area.
After a few minutes' walk, you will reach the Greeting-guests Pine.
It is the landmark landscape of Huangshan and one of the symbols of Anhui Province.
Here you can spend some time taking pictures with this most famous pine trees in China, and enjoying the beautiful view of the grandiose Celestial Capital Peak.
After an hour's walk, you will arrive at Lotus Peak, Lotus peak is the highest peak of Huangshan, with an altitude of 1864.8m.
There are some bridges, plank roads and viewing platform on the lotus peak, which is undoubtedly the best place for photography.
Here you will have an hour to stop and enjoy your lunch.
In the afternoon, walk for an hour and you will arrive at Xihai Grand Canyon, because of the high altitude, when you stand on the canyon, the clouds flow like a stream from the peak under your feet, so it is also called "White Cloud Canyon".
The total length of Xihai Grand Canyon is 15km.
Here you can take the photo according to your own preference and within the time allowed, and feel the most magnificent scenery of Mt.Huangshan.
If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to enjoy the sunset at the Cloud-dispelling Pavilion.
After the tour, take rest in your hotel on the top of Huangshan mountain.

After breakfast, you will visit Bright Summit, the second highest on the mountain and see a wonder of Huangshan - Flying-over Rock.

The entrance to the village is a via gallery bridge named Zhongshu Bridge.
The scenery of the inner village is quite different.
All the houses are painted white.
The cyan roofs are decorated with abundant and exquisite wooden carvings.
Small paths are covered with blue stones.
Limpid streams meander between these ancient buildings.

During the autumn, the villagers always dry their crops, such as corn and hot pepper, which have become a highlight for the ancient village.
In addition, the village has been recently honored with the title "China's Most Beautiful Symbol".
After lunch, drive you back to Huangshan city.
You can take a short visit at Tunxi Ancient Street, the street starts in the west at Zhenhai Bridge, a stone arch bridge built during the Ming Dynasty, and ends in the east at the "Memorial Archway." Its total length is about 1.5 km and the sides of the street are laid with slab stones.
There are hundreds of old but well-preserved rows of shops, evoking a bygone era in buildings that are simple and elegant.
It is a commercial street that is only for pedestrians.
